What are a lulav and etrog?

One of the special ways we celebrate Sukkot is by bringing together four kinds of plants: a lulav (palm branch), myrtle and willow branches, and an etrog—a fragrant citrus fruit. Each day of Sukkot, except Shabbat, we say a blessing and gently wave them together. It’s a simple, meaningful mitzvah—a Jewish commandment—that you can take part in even if you’ve never done it before.
